SUNRISE addresses challenges faced by Ukrainian PhD students in environmental subjects due to the war. It develops the capacity of EU partners to provide relevant support in this sense.

SUNRISE implementation will be supported by a number of events, such as training sessions for staff (training of trainers) and students, including an international summer school in Tartu (jointly with the EU HORIZON project LAND), and a final conference at the University of Camerino.
SUNRISE will develop several publications, such as strategies and guidelines for post-war recovery for partner universities in Ukraine, guidelines for setting up living labs; in addition it will support and encourage publications based on the research outputs of PhD students involved to the doctoral school training in Ukraine.
