Curricula

The SUNRISE curricula bring together a set of PhD-level courses designed to strengthen environmental research and education in the context of crisis and recovery. The syllabi translate SUNRISE principles into practice by combining resilience-oriented learning, interdisciplinary research, and modern, flexible teaching approaches.

They address key project objectives by:

  • supporting post-war recovery and environmental resilience through targeted topics (e.g. ecosystem restoration, climate change, resource management);
  • promoting innovative and interdisciplinary research skills;
  • enabling flexible, blended learning environments adapted to current Ukrainian conditions.

Across the courses, students develop advanced competencies in areas such as environmental modelling, ecosystem services, biodiversity monitoring, and sustainable development, while working with real-world challenges and data.
